PREFERITI DI MARZO: ODORE DI PRIMAVERA/MARCH FAVORITES: SCENTS OF SPRING

Bentrovati al nostro appuntamento con quelle cose frivolissime, ma dannatamente essenziali nella vita di una donna. Marzo sì, parliamo di Marzo, nonostante Aprile sia quasi volto al termine, ma non potevo di certo lasciare coloro che seguono questa rubrica senza i miei prodotti preferiti d’inizio primavera.
A Marzo ci si risveglia dalla pigrizia del lungo inverno e c’è più voglia di uscire, di rimettersi in forma, di vederci e sentirci più belle, di circondarci di profumi soavi.
Inizio subito parlandovi di uno strumento che ho comprato non per me, ma per mio figlio. Roman ha una meravigliosa criniera di ricci dorati e lunghissimi, che ovviamente richiedono cura e disciplina. Oltre a prodotti appropriati e naturali, fondamentale si è rivelato il modo di pettinarli, operazione che io svolgo unicamente durante il lavaggio con i capelli bagnati e con il balsamo applicato. Nonostante sia il momento migliore per farlo, ho collezionato parecchie urla, diversi  pianti e infiniti “no mamma!”.  Così mi sono decisa a investire (sì, proprio investire, perché il prezzo non è di certo friendly) sulla tangle teezer, la spazzola del momento, quella senza manico, quella che tutte le beauty blogger che si rispettino possiedono. Vi confesso che ero un po’ scettica, ma miracolosamente, spazzolare i capelli di Roman non è più un atto così tragico. Se avete capelli ribelli,  e la proverete, non potrete più vivere senza!

Welcome back to our frivolous monthly appointment of the unnecessary necessities we absolutely can’t live without. April is almost over, I know, but I couldn’t disappoint my monthly favorite followers, therefore, today’s article is going to cover everything I loved during the month of March and the beginning of this Spring season. March is the month we slowly wake up from a long lazy winter’s sleep and all we want to do is be outside, get back in shape, look and feel beautiful and get all wrapped up in sweet and floral scents. Don’t we. Today I’m going to start off with a new essential I didn’t purchase for myself, but for my son. Roman has a head of wonderful, long golden curls which require a lot of TLC. Besides the use of natural hair products, I find brushing – done only when I wash his hair, using tons of conditioner – the most effective method to maintain his gorgeous hair healthy and beautiful. Unfortunately it caused plenty of tears and screaming followed by ” ouch mommy ” complaints in the past, so I finally made the decision to go ahead and invest ( yes, invest as its price is not exactly budget friendly ) in the Tangle Teezer, the world famous hairbrush with no handle every respectable beauty blogger out there owns and writes about. I was quite skeptical at first, I’m not going to lie, but it turned out to be a life saver as brushing Roman’s hair is no longer a nightmare. If you have long and rebellious hair I encourage you to give it a try. You wouldn’t be able to live without it anymore.

Un’altra arma di bellezza che da quando l’ho scoperta sarà sempre presente nel mio beauty case, è il primer HangoveRx di TooFaced. Lo uso quelle mattine in cui il mio viso è particolarmente provato dalle notti insonni e devo dire che l’effetto è davvero visibile.

Another beauty favorite that has been ( and will always be ) in my makeup bag, is the Hangoverx face primer by Too Faced. I usually wear it on mornings after a sleepless night and I have to say it helps tremendously.

Un prodotto make-up di cui parlo benissimo a tutte le mie amiche è il brow definer di Anastasia Beverly Hills. Non è una matita per sopracciglia classica, avendo una punta che non è proprio quella che di solito ha una matita. La forma della sua mina però aiuta a definire le sopracciglia in modo più semplice rispetto alle matite classiche. So già che la ricomprerò.

A makeup product I can’t rave enough about with my friends is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer. It’s different than any other brow pencil in the market for the shape of its tip that outlines and defines brows in one easy application. Great product. I already know I will be repurchasing it.

Partendo dal presupposto che se hai una buona mano puoi usarli tutti indistintamente e con ottimi risultati, la differenza, oltre alla tenuta e al colore, sta nelle punta.

While all of them are fairly easy to apply and deliver great results, if you know what you’re doing, the difference – aside from their lasting power and pigmentation – is in the tip.

Quello di e.l.f. è quello più economico ed è l’eyeliner che uso da più tempo. È probabilmente il più difficile da applicare perché il pennello è morbido, ma a me piace.
L’eyeliner di Benefit è cremoso e ha un’applicatore particolare che ti aiuta a creare facilmente la forma, ma non mi ha entusiasmato.
Quello di KatVonD ha una punta sottile ed è bello, uno dei più elogiati dalle amanti del make-up.
L’eyeliner di Stila ha una punta fine ed è nerissimo, non tra i più economici, ma di sicuro il mio preferito, quello che consiglierei di comprare.
Da poco ho provato anche l’eyeliner con la doppia punta, fine e grossa, di essence e devo dire che mi piace tantissimo. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.

The eyeliner from E.l.f. is the most affordable one. I’ve been using it the longest. Because of its soft flex tip it’s probably the most difficult one to apply, but I like it nonetheless. The one by Benefit has a creamy texture and its tip is custom angled to draw easy lines. Sadly, I didn’t love it. The Kat Von D eyeliner has an innovative thin brush tip and it’s gorgeous. Definitely a beauty lover’s favorite. The one by Stila comes with a fine tip and it’s super black. It’s not cheap, but it’s my favorite one. I highly recommend it. I also tried the dual ended ( thin and thicker ) eyeliner pen by Essence, recently, and I have to say I’m pretty impressed with it so far. Great quality at an affordable price.

A Marzo ho scoperto il mio profumo del momento. L’ho acquistato senza averlo odorato prima, colpita dal nome e dalla confezione minimal-chic e leggendone le note su internet. Il profumo si chiama Signorina di Salvatore Ferragamo ed è stato amore a prima spruzzata. Sarà forse per quella sensazione di leggerezza, frivolezza e freschezza che è diventato subito il profumo della mia primavera. Trovo adorabile anche la boccetta.

March was the month of a new favorite Spring fragrance as well. I purchased it without knowing what it smelled like. What sold me was its name, its minimal and chic packaging and its notes I found out about after a little Internet research. I’m talking about Signorina by Salvatore Ferragamo. It was pure love as soon as I sprayed it for the first time. Perhaps for its fresh, light and frivolous style? The bottle is adorable too.

Se fuori, tutt’intorno è stato un fiorire di alberi e piante, ho avuto il desiderio di portare la nuova stagione anche in casa, usando le tarts di Yankee Candle. Le mie preferite sono state quelle ai fiori e ai frutti.

With plants and trees in bloom everywhere, I felt the need to bring the new season inside the house as well by burning a few Yankee Candle tarts. My favorite were the fruity and the floral ones. Fresh cut roses, Macintosh, Sweet strawberries and Red raspberries were my choices for the month of March.

Fresh Cut roses, Macintosh, Sweet Strawberries, Red Raspberries sono state le mie scelte. Per la nostra tavola di Pasqua, che molti di voi avranno forse visto su Instagram, ho scelto invece Pink Peony.

To decorate our Easter table, which many of you already saw on Instagram, I chose Pink Peony instead.

Profumi e bellezza, nuovi risvegli e candidi amori. Non dovrebbe essere così ogni primavera?
