Come vi avevo detto nell’articolo sulle Ottobrate romane, alla gente di Roma piace andare in giro, e la Pasquetta rappresenta proprio l’occasione giusta per un’altra gita fuori porta. Io, dunque, vi racconterò la mia.
Prima di metterci in auto voglio specificare che la Pasquetta, o Lunedì di Pasqua (anche detto Lunedì dell’Angelo), per la religione Cattolica è la celebrazione dell’incontro dell’Angelo con le donne giunte al sepolcro, le quali vengono informate che Gesù Cristo è risorto.
Per noi, molto più “terra terra”, è invece un giorno di festa da passare all’aria aperta, per un pic-nic veloce o una scampagnata lunga una giornata intera. I più organizzati mettono su dei veri banchetti nuziali, e come mete preferite da noi romani ci sono i parchi delle ville di Roma, i castelli, i colli albani, i vari laghi intorno alla Capitale. E naturalmente il mare, che dal Circeo all’Argentario si riempie di gente bramosa del sole primaverile.
Vi devo avvertire, ci sono due cose da temere in questa giornata. La prima è il tempo, perché di solito piove o è nuvoloso, e la seconda è il traffico del rientro…allucinante!!!
Simona – la mia compagna – alcuni amici ed io scegliamo come meta per la nostra gita il Bountybeach di Sabaudia dove hanno organizzato un Cooking dj set…Se vi state chiedendo che cos’è, un attimo e ve lo spiego subito: praticamente il dj è anche il cuoco ed il cuoco è anche il dj.
Il cielo come da copione è nuvoloso, ma decidiamo ugualmente di andare, la scelta si rivelerà giusta. Arrivati al Bountybeach subito siamo accolti dalla musica e dai colori.
Il cuoco-dj perdona i nostri peccati dandoci da mangiare, la giornata scorre serena tra una birra ed un bicchier di vino e tutti noi ci rilassiamo facendoci cullare dal ritmo delle onde.
Scattiamo anche delle foto vintage a ricordo di questa giornata che voglio condividere con voi.
La giornata sta volgendo al termine ed il sole decide di venirci a salutare confermandoci di aver fatto la scelta giusta.
E’ ora di tornare a casa, vi dico solo che mentre il tempo è stato magnanimo il traffico no, ma se il prezzo da pagare per passare una giornata in armonia è questo, sono felice di averlo pagato.

As I mentioned in my ” Ottobrate Romane ” article, Romans love the outdoors and Easter Monday is the perfect opportunity to go away for the day, which is exactly what I did and wanted to tell you all about it.
First and foremost let me explain that, for the Catholic Church, Easter Monday (also known as Monday of the Angel) “, is the celebration of the Angel comforting the women who rushed to the tomb to find out Jesus had risen. To us, Italians it’s just another excuse to get out of the house, have a picnic, spend the day out in the country. The most organized folks get ready for Easter Monday planning parties as big as wedding receptions and the most popular and sought after areas of interest, for us Romans, are the parks and gardens of the Roman Villas, the Roman castles, the Alban Hills, the various lakes around the city and of course the beach, which, from Circeo all the way to Argentario, gets filled with people determined to catch every single ray of spring sunshine out there.
I must warn you though, there are two major factors that always do their best in spoiling this holiday every year: the weather, because it’s always either rainy or cloudy, and traffic congestion on the way back home at the end of the day. It’s unbelievable!
For our day of fun my significant other Simona, some friends of mine and I decided to head to Bounty beach, in Sabaudia which held what they call a “cooking DJ set” party. What it is, in case you’re wondering is a DJ who can both spin and cook. As predicted the sky was cloudy, but we decided to leave anyway and I’m glad we did as we were warmly welcomed by lots of music and colors as soon as we got to the beach. The chef / DJ fed us delicious food and the day went smoothly between a few beers and a glass of wine while being rocked by the sound of the waves. We even took a few vintage photos to seize the moment which I’m glad to share with all of you. As the day was coming to an end, the sun decided to show his pretty face proving we made the right decision by going to Bounty beach for our Easter Monday. The weather has been nice to us but the traffic was terrible. It’s ok though, I guess it’s the price you pay for spending quality time with the ones you love, which in this case, it was worth every penny.
