Vi ricordate la fattoria Oasis Family Farm in Robbinsille NJ dove ero andata insieme alla mia famiglia in autunno? (Se la risposta è no, guardate qui) Bene! Ci siamo tornati di recente per portare i bambini alla famosa Easter Egg Hunt, la tradizionale caccia alle uova che i tedeschi hanno importato dalla Germania quando sono immigrati nel XIX secolo e di cui ci ha parlato anche Sabrina nel suo ultimo articolo.
La fattoria era davvero accogliente, con fiori e decorazioni dai colori pastello e sfoggiava un volto primaverile.
Do you guys remember the Oasis Family Farm in Robbinsille, NJ I visited with my family this past fall? ( if the answer is no and you’re interested in reading all about it, click here ). Well, anyway, we recently went back for a fun day of Easter Egg Hunting with the kids, the famous and traditional Easter game that was introduced to America by the German immigrants back in the XIX century that even Sabrina talked about in her last article. The farm was quite welcoming, and, adorned with flowers and pastel colored decorations, it had spring written all over it.
Era la prima volta che Roman vedeva l’Easter Bunny, il coniglio di Pasqua, una specie di Babbo Natale primaverile, che porta cestini di vimini piene di dolci e sorprese.
Roman met the Easter Bunny for the first time, that day. The Easter Bunny is almost like a Santa Claus for Spring, if you will, as it always shows up with wicker baskets filled with sweets and surprises.
Siamo arrivati un po’ prima e visto che Roman si era rifiutato di fare colazione a casa, dopo aver fatto i biglietti per la cacccia alle uova, siamo entrati nel piccolo negozio dove ho comprato una ciambella al sidro di mela e zucchero a mio figlio. Rocco aveva già mangiato latte e cereali invece. C’erano tanti palloncini colorati che non sono passati inosservati agli occhi di Roman.
We arrived at the farm a little early and, since Roman, – unlike his brother Rocco who had milk and cereal -, refused to have breakfast at home, we made a quick stop, after getting our tickets for the Egg Hunt, at a cute little shop to buy an apple cider donut for my son. There were lots of colorful balloons everywhere. Roman was so excited and fascinated by them.
Perdendo un po’ di tempo qua e là, è arrivato il momento di cercare le uova! Roman avrebbe dovuto essere nel gruppo dei toddlers ma è voluto andare insieme a suo fratello e l’hanno lasciato fare.
We kept busy, trying to kill some time here and there, until it was finally time for the Egg Hunt. Roman was supposed to play for the toddler team but he really wanted to be with Rocco so they let him.
Le uova da collezionare erano dodici a testa. Potete immaginare quante ce ne erano nel cestino di Roman! Rocco ha anche trovato l’uovo d’oro, il più ambito, il più prezioso.
The kids were required to collect 12 eggs each. Can you guys imagine how many eggs were inside Roman’s basket? Rocco even found the golden egg, the most precious and most sought after of the game.
Siamo poi andati a scoprire cosa ci fosse nelle uova: c’erano anelli, adesivi, pesciolini di gomma, rane di plastica, monetine porta fortuna. In quello d’oro invece, un ingresso gratis a una delle attrazioni della fattoria.
It was then time to open the eggs and see what the kids found: rings, stickers, rubber toy fish, plastic toy frogs and good luck coins, while the surprise inside the golden egg was a free ticket for one of the farm’s attractions.
Non potevamo stare più a lungo, altri impegni richiedevano la nostra presenza, ma ci siamo ripromessi di tornare in una giornata più calda, per sfruttare anche il regalo che aveva trovato Rocco nel suo uovo d’oro.
Unfortunately we couldn’t stay any longer as we had to go elsewhere, but we decided to make plans to go back on a warmer day, that way Rocco could use the gift he found in the golden egg too.

Posso avere una ciambelletta al sidro pure io??? Quindi a Roman il super coniglio di Pasqua è piaciuto! In rete si trovano spesso foto di bimbi terrorizzati da quel coniglione 🙂 Aspetto di vedere Rocco e il suo regalo “d’oro” allora!
Sííí Roman è corso ad abbracciarlo, mentre gli altri bambini piangevano disperati LOL buonissime le ciambelle al sidro
