Cominciamo dalla fine. Grazie!
Grazie perché senza di voi questo articolo non sarebbe stato possibile. Quando abbiamo deciso di lanciare su Instagram l’hashtag #xmasfromtheworld non ci siamo rese conto di quanto emozionante sarebbe stato ricevere quelle che a noi piace chiamare “le Cartoline Natalizie dal mondo”.
Grazie perché le foto erano tutte meravigliose e raccontavano di una stessa gioia vissuta in luoghi così lontani tra loro, che in qualche modo siamo riusciti tutti insieme ad avvicinare. Grazie perché adoriamo le luci di Natale e siamo curiose da morire, grazie perché stavolta siete stati voi a portarci in giro per il mondo.. e che bel viaggio è stato! Grazie per i momenti che ci avete regalato, che erano i vostri, grazie perché avremmo voluto abbracciarvi tutti.. grazie perché il pensiero di così tanti italiani in giro per il mondo ci ha fatto sentire, in qualche modo, più vicine a casa. E’ il regalo più grande.
Ecco, dunque, la nostra – e soprattutto vostra – galleria di cartoline di Natale, un modo diverso per farci gli Auguri, come piace a noi, uno scambio, un abbraccio grande quanto tutto il mondo!
Passando da New York, immancabile, fino a Boston, un sogno, senza dimenticare Portland e un piccolo giro a Yarmouth siamo volati a Londra, con le sue luci, e una sosta a Praga ci voleva per forza.. e poi una volta lì, è stato relativamente breve il viaggio fino a Francoforte, la città fiorente, e da lì a Monaco di Baviera e poi dritti senza fermarci fino a Nizza, e subito dopo Tenerife ci aspettava.. E allora ci abbiamo preso gusto, e via alla volta del Kuwait, ma poi subito siamo tornati indietro, perché avevamo saltato Basilea, e dovevamo per forza passare anche a Copenahgen, e dunque abbiamo aguzzato la vista e si vedeva Amsterdam, non potevamo non andare..
Un giro fantastico, le foto e le città che avete scelto per trascorrere il periodo natalizio, o in alcuni casi, per farne la vostra casa, ci sono piaciute un sacco e anche se dopo tutto questo giro siamo un tantino stanche – lo siete anche voi, vero? – ne è valsa davvero la pena. Per un Natale così, ne vale sempre davvero la pena.
Un abbraccio a tutti, ma proprio a tutti coloro che ci hanno aiutato a costruire questo splendido progetto di vedere il Natale dappertutto.. e anche a tutti quelli che ne vedranno i risultati.

Let’s start from the end: THANK YOU! Thank you because, without your help, this article wouldn’t have been possible. When we decided to create the hashtag #xmasfromtheworld on Instagram we didn’t really know how exciting it would be to receive what we like to call many ” Christmas postcards from all over the world ” Thank you because all of your photos were amazing, each and every one of them told a story of joy and holiday spirit from so many different places in the world, very distant from one another that we, somehow, were able to bring closer together. Thank you because we love the Christmas lights, thank you because we’re always so curious about new places, thank you because this time, you were the ones who took us around the world. And what a fantastic journey this has been! Thank you for the unforgettable moments you gave us, your moments, that is. Thank you because we would love to hug you all tight. Thank you because the thought of so many Italians scattered around the world, somehow, made us feel closer to home. This is the greatest gift of all. Without further ado here’s our ( your ) gallery of Christmas postcards, an alternative way to wish each other Happy Holidays, the way we like it. Hugs as big as the whole wide world to all of you! From New York, inevitably, to Boston, a dream come true, without forgetting to stop in Portland, after a short trip to Yarmouth, we flew to London to see its beautiful lights. Then we just had to see Prague and once we got there, we couldn’t miss the chance to quickly visit Frankfurt, the flourishing city. From there we drove all the way to Munich, then straight to Nice. Tenerife was also waiting for our landing, so we went there too. We were having fun, that’s why we proceeded directly to Kuwait, but we had to turn back shortly after our arrival because we forgot to visit Basel and we just had to see Copenhagen too, and because we saw Amsterdam from the distance, we couldn’t have missed that for the world. It was a great trip. We loved all the pictures and the destinations you’ve picked to spend your Christmas Holidays, or in some cases, to live in. And if after this long adventure we are a little tired and jet legged ( you are too, aren’t you ) it was worth every minute of it. For a Christmas like this, it’s always worth losing sleep over. Hugs to everyone who helped us build this magnificent project to see Christmas everywhere and thanks to those who will enjoy reading all about it.
