Quest’estate mi è venuta in mente un’idea. Ho pensato che sarebbe stato divertente vedere il blog in un disegno, l’immagine che il blog suggerisce a chi lo legge: voi. Da lì, ragionando con Sabrina, da idea nasce idea, ecco materializzarsi un contest su Instagram. Più che un vero e proprio contest, un gioco. Sarà che quando io sogno lo faccio sempre in grande, tanto da aver immaginato che sarebbe arrivata una quantità improponibile di illustrazioni con il tag #disegnailmioblog cosi’ da far impazzire me e Sabrina per la scelta dei vincitori. Invece, contro ogni aspettativa, sono arrivati solo due disegni, che si sono proclamati da soli vincitori assoluti del contest. Ma le due talentuose e simpatiche igers già solo per il fatto di aver partecipato hanno vinto. Sapete perché? Perché hanno giocato, senza prendersi troppo sul serio. I loro disegni ci hanno deliziato e fatto sorridere. Noi siamo felicissime di ospitarle sul blog dove possono raccontare qualcosa in più di loro.
Allora, bando alle ciance e andiamo subito a conoscerle.
This summer I got an idea. I thought that it would have been nice to see my blog sketched as a drawing and see how the blog may appear to you, my readers. Therefore, after speaking with Sabrina, step after step, the drawing contest came to life. Actually it was more like a game, rather than a contest. Now…when I dream, I dream big; so I imagined to receive an incredible amount of drawings with the tag #disegnailmioblog, so that Sabrina and I would have gone crazy to choose the winners. Surprisingly and against the odds, we received only two drawings, that automatically became the winners of the contest. But the nice and gifted Igers already won solely by participating. Do you know why? Because they did participated and did not take up things too much seriously. We loved their drawings and they made us happy. We are more than welcome to host them here on the blog and know something more about them.
So now, less talk and more facts.

Ora vivo a metà tra Parma e Milano..sempre avanti e indietro!
Ho un lavoro normalissimo da impiegata, ma la mia passione più grande fin da bambina è appunto il DIY (faidate) ..tutto quello che riguarda il disegno, il costruire e il creare! Non so mai da dove iniziare, ho sempre troppe idee in testa! In questo mi segue molto il mio adorato fratello, soprattutto quando c’è da tagliare la legna! Se mi seguite su IG avrete capito per cosa!
Hai vinto il contest “disegna il mio blog”: quanto l’arte fa partedella tua vita, è il tuo lavoro, la tua passione o entrambe le cose?
L’arte per me è sempre stata ‘normale’ , di casa! Nella mia famiglia ci sono più persone portate per la creatività e la manualità. Ho sempre della colla pronta all’uso e i colori acrilici sono sempre fuori, neanche fossero la bottiglia dell’acqua! Spesso la sera disegno invece che guardare la televisione!
Per ora ho un negozzietto virtuale su etsy “Podalirio”..è un lavoretto secondario ma è uno sfogo gigante per me!!!!
Se io fossi il Genio della lampada (ma più carina!) quali desideri vorresti che realizzassi per te (Attenta, puoi sceglierne solo tre!)?
Rimanendo in tema, vorrei che :
– Tutti i piccoli artigiani , soprattutto in Italia adesso, potessero vivere del loro talento..sono sicura che vivremmo in mezzo a mobili e decori molto più unici e di qualità!
– Tutti avessero più consapevolezza delle cose che fanno bene e che fanno male al nostro pianeta..cosí che piano piano diventi una priorità salvaguardare quello che abbiamo ora per noi ma che un giorno verrà consegnato ai nostri figli!
– ..un ultimo solo per me: un laboratorio con tutti gli attrezzi possibili, colori, materiali e utensili per poter creare le cose che vorrei e vivere di artigianato!

Tell us about you: who are you, what do you like, where do you live?
My name is Valentina and I am 27. On Instagram my name is Verde Salvia.
I currently live between Parma and Milan…always back and forth!
I have a quite normal job as employee, but since I was young, my greatest passion is DIY and everything that concerns drawing, crafting and creating! I never know where to start ‘cause my mind is always full of ideas! My lovely brother helps me a lot, especially when it comes to cutting wood! If you follow me on IG, you know why!
You won the “draw my blog” contest, in which way art is part of your life? Is it your job, your passion or both?
I’ve always been accustomed to a life full of art! There are many members of my family who have a thing for creativity and manual skills. Glue sticks and acrylic colors are never out of reach: always available, like a bottle of water! Often, in the evening, I prefer to draw instead of watching TV!
For now I have a small, virtual shop on Etsy, called “Podalirio”…it’s just a secondary activity but it works perfectly as a relief valve for me!!!
If I were the Genie of the Lamp (but much prettier!) which would be your wishes (for yourself)? Be careful, you have only three wishes!
Sticking to this subject, I would like that:
- all small craftsmen, especially now in Italy, could make ends meet thanks to their job…I am sure that like that, we would have more high-quality and unique pieces of furniture!
- everybody may become more aware of what is good and what is bad for our planet. In this way, it will become a priority to preserve what we have now and that it will be inherited by our children!
- …the last wish is for me: I would like a lab of my own with all tools, colors, materials and utensils ever made, in order to create all the things I want and live my life as a craftswoman!

Mi chiamo Stella Serena, ma le persone mi chiamano con uno dei due nomi che preferiscono, e vivo a San Benedetto del Tronto, una tranquilla città di mare affacciata sul Mar Adriatico. Sono laureata in Filologia classica e moderna e il mio sogno è…oh, avrei tanti sogni! Mi sento ancora come una bambina che deve decidere cosa fare “da grande”, e la mia immaginazione corre lontano. Vorrei essere tante cose, lavorare per una casa editrice, scrivere per una rivista, scrivere e illustrare libri per bambini, vorrei essere una fotografa, una maestra di scuola elementare,…insomma avrete capito che ho le idee chiare no? Una cosa è certa però, i libri sono la mia prima grande passione, alla quale da poco tempo si è aggiunta anche l’interesse per il mondo della cosmesi. Quest’anno ho aperto un blog proprio per condividere con gli altri ciò che mi piace, e l’ho chiamato “The imbranation girl” (eccolo qui). Imbranation è una parola che non esiste ovviamente, ma che ho sempre usato per definirmi. Sì, sono imbranata e impacciata nel profondo, e questo, nel tempo, mi ha portata ad essere sempre più autoironica e a non prendermi troppo sul serio. Sono una persona di poche parole (non si direbbe, eh?) o forse sarebbe meglio dire che “ero” di poche parole. Sono sempre stata molto timida e introversa, ma negli ultimi anni ho dovuto combattere una dura lotta con me stessa e finalmente posso dire di avercela (quasi) fatta!
Hai vinto il contest “disegna il mio blog”: quanto l’arte fa parte della tua vita, è il tuo lavoro, la tua passione o entrambe le cose?
L’arte ha sempre fatto parte della mia vita, anche se dal mio disegno non si direbbe eheheh! Purtroppo non ho più preso in mano una matita per disegnare da almeno 10 anni, quindi perdonatemi! Infatti mi sono buttata sull’ironia, per compensare le mie mancanze “tecniche” diciamo. Comunque dicevo che ho sempre amato l’arte, in tutte le sue forme, disegno, musica, danza, recitazione. Da piccola disegnavo sempre, e già all’asilo i miei compagni mi chiedevano di disegnare per loro. Poi vinsi alcuni concorsi a livello regionale, ma a me non interessavano i premi, volevo solo continuare a dipingere i miei sogni. Al liceo poi, il mio mitico professore di storia dell’arte mi spronava a fare sempre di meglio, adoravo disegnare con il carboncino e con la sanguigna, e mi fece esporre alcuni disegni nella mia città. Poi, ai tempi dell’università ho abbandonato i miei adorati fogli e mi sono avvicinata maggiormente al mondo della musica. Queste grandi passioni sono rimaste, e oggi si è aggiunto anche il mio amore per la fotografia! Meno male che parlavo poco!
Se io fossi il Genio della lampada (ma più carina!) quali desideri vorresti che realizzassi per te (Attenta, puoi sceglierne solo tre!)?
Ahahah già mi immagino un genio in gonnella e chili di contouring e mascara! Escludendo desideri d’amore e riportare in vita chi non c’è più, (erano queste le regole vero?) questa sì che è una scelta difficile. Non sarò patetica, e non dirò quelle cose da Miss Italia tipo “la pace nel mondo”. Allooora, desiderio n.1 diventare bella come Zooey Deschanel, adoro il suo tipo di bellezza non appariscente, con quei grandi occhi blu, semplice e delicata. Desiderio n.2 trovare il lavoro che più mi soddisfa. Questo credo che sia il desiderio più importante per me in questo momento. Desiderio n.3 Vivere negli Stati Uniti! Esattamente, proprio come la cara Mrs. Braghelli! Nei desideri le si può sparare grosse no? Eh, allora io dico che mi ha sempre affascinata quella parte di America, e non parlo unicamente di New York, ma di tutto il paese. Adoro le feste americane, le tradizioni, le case (le adoro tutte, da quelle di New Orleans al Mississipi, da quelle di San Francisco a quelle coloniali della Georgia!). Sì, vorrei vivere in America, decisamente. Peccato che io abbia una paura matta di prendere l’aereo, ma tu sei un genio e mi ci teletrasporteresti vero?

Tell us about you: who are you, what do you like, where do you live?
My name is Stella Serena, but everybody calls me just only Stella or Serena, and I live in San Benedetto del Tronto, a quite sea town on the Adriatic Sea. I have a graduation degree in classical and modern philology and my dream is…oh, I have so many dreams! I still feel like a child who has to decide what to do as a grown-up, and my imagination is quite full of ideas. I would like to work for a publishing house, to write for a magazine, to write and illustrate books for children, to be a photographer or an elementary school teacher…So, you see…I haven’t clear up my mind, yet! But one thing is sure: books are my greatest passion, recently joined by a great passion for makeup, as well. This year I decided to write a blog, in order to share what I like with other people and I named it “The Imbranation girl”(here). “Imbranation” doesn’t exist in English, but it’s a word I invented to define myself. (“Imbranata” means awkward, clumsy in English, TN). Yes, I am really such an awkward and clumsy person, but being like this helped me to develop a certain self-mockery attitude and not to take myself too seriously. I am not a very talkative person (“Don’t tell me!”, you will think!) or better, I used to be like that. I was always the shy and introverted type, but over the last few years I’ve had a hard fight with myself and I can say that I (almost) made it!

Art has always been a part of my life, even if you wouldn’t say it, by looking at my drawing eheheh! Unfortunately it’s been 10 years that I don’t use a pencil anymore, so please don’t be too hard! That’s why I chose to develop my self-mockery attitude, to compensate in some ways my “technical” flaws. So I was saying that I love art, in all its shapes: drawing, music, dance, acting. When I was a child, I used to draw all the time and already at the kindergarten, my mates asked me to draw something for them. I also won some regional contests, but I wasn’t interested in the prizes; rather, I wanted to simply paint my dreams. When I was in high school, my beloved art teacher pushed me to do more and better. I enjoyed to draw with charcoal and red chalk, and thanks to him, some of my works were displayed in an exhibition in my town. Once at the university I left all my beloved drawings and I got closer to the music field. I still have these passions in my life also today and a new one got added to the list: photography! So, what I was saying about being a shy type!??

Ahahah I was imagining you as a genie in a skirt and loads of contouring and mascara! Love wishes and wishes about those who are not here anymore aside, (these were the rules, right!?), the other wishes are very difficult to pick up. I don’t want to look pathetic and I don’t want to say things like “the peace in the world”, as a beauty queen. Sooo, wish n.1: to become beautiful like Zooey Deschanel, since I love her unpretentious beauty, with those big blue eyes, looking so simple, yet delicate. Wish n.2: to find a job that satisfies me. I think that in this moment in my life, this is the most important wish. Wish n.3: to live in the United States! Exactly, just like our dear Mrs. Braghelli! I can dream big, right?! So, I must say that I have always been fascinated by that part of America, and I am not referring only to New York, but the whole country. I love American festivals, its traditions, the houses ( I love them all, from New Orleans to the Mississippi and from San Francisco to the colonial ones in Georgia!). Yes, I’d love to live in America, definitely. Unfortunately I am so scared to fly, but since you are a genie, you would teleportate me, right?!
